Blog

A FEW MORE BLOCKS is the personal blog of artist / musician Gary Llama. Since 2011, it has been a meditative part of Garys life.

My friend Jay had never been to the city hall observation deck, so after school, we grabbed the kids and went…

…Madison, suprisingly, was not interested at all in looking out the windows…

…instead, the kids focussed on the big empty room we were in, and the echos it could produce…

…this resulted in the kids running around screaming, and making any sound that could echo…

…meanwhile, Jay and I were transfixed on the beautiful views of the city…

…So as an outing, perhaps it was a success? The kids enjoyed themselves, and WE enjoyed ourselves, just for completely different reasons.

Got a bad cold. And a few days later, my friend pneumonia showed up…

…the cold was probably actually a flu, according to the ER, but it wasn’t A or B…

…if you do happen to get pneumonia, this cough medicine makes things much easier. Just kinda magically makes your cough go away, and makes you a little drowsy, but nothing too crazy.

Happy new year…

…river walk with bear…

…I love the new Dominion building. beautiful…

…very warm out this morning. 68….

…the drastic weather difference brought a lot of wind…

…but made a rare non-freezing minute to go out and see the river!

Christmas started early…

…madison’s big gift this year was a skateboard, a Powell Peralta ‘Ripper’ mini, which she asked for specifically, because she likes skeletons…

…lots of fun stuff…

…then down to my mom’s, picking up 99-year old grandma on the way down…

…one of Madison’s other big gifts: her first proper watch: A Swatch. Technically, my watch is kind of a swatch (well, it’s an ETA movement, and it’s on a swatch band)…

…and then over to the beach. A few minutes to relax and catch my breath…

Breath in the salt air.

Much needed refresh.

Night before christmas…

…decorated the ‘mini’ tree…

…and Madison has been very intrigued by the solar system recently, which mainly came from some books I picked up at the thrift store on the solar system, which Megan has been reading to her before bed. So Madison’s ‘early’ gift was a MODEL of the solar system…

…which really was a MODEL in the sense that you had to paint and assemble it. So christmas eve was spent listening to Miles Davis and painting our local universe.
