Make / Model: Fender Super Champ X2 FSR
On paper, this is an amazing amplifier. A fender, with a tube preamp and power amp, with digital effects and control, and this being the upgraded FSR version, with a 10″ Celestion Greenback (my fav) speaker.
And if you disable everything, and just play it through the clean tone, it is damn good.
But if you want ANY type of gain, it has to go through the effects, and well, I hate the sound of the processing on this amp. There is just this weird fakeness/nasal crap happening around 2-2.5k, a grainyness that almost seems like aliasing, and it’s just on everything.
So yeah. This could be an amazing amp, but I do not like the way fender implemented the digital, at all.
